Julien Lagueste grew up near the sea in la Trinite-sur-mer, a French city on the Atlantic coast, and spent most of his summers in some paradisiacal islands.
After graduating as an Interior Designer, he moved to Nantes and opened up his confidential workshop studio in 2016.
His 8 years of study followed by a self-taught apprenticeship led him to create a collection of tables inspired by his childhood: Souvenirs des iles.
A piece of furniture, a sculpture and a painting all in one, each creation is unique and made by hand.
Simple et poetic, carved woods take inspiration from the organic shapes of eroded stone. The tabletop reminds the transparency and depth of the seabed in the sea.
His special process of superimposing several layers of resin mixed with pigments means that no two tables will ever be the same.
When the liquid resin hardens, all the countless hues of the ocean come to life.
After some exhibitions in France at Maison et Objet, Revélations at the Grand Palais, Private Choice, Meet My Project, his creations quickly integrated famous collections.
The Mobilier national, international interior design studios such as Julie Hillman Design, art galleries such as the Galerie des Lyons, interiors of art collectors. The Souvenirs des iles collection traveled all over the world:
Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, the Hamptons, Miami, Corsica,Mauritius, Mykonos, Megeve, Cairo. Madrid, and other secret places...
